Fujifilm, Ebantic and Oxigen drive a model for long-term sovereign digital preservation

Photographs, videos, audiovisual archives and business documents are now created directly in digital format. As the volume of this content grows, businesses and institutions face an increasingly important strategic challenge: ensuring that information remains available and can be recovered when needed, while retaining control over where it is stored and the technological environment that supports it.

In this context, Fujifilm, Ebantic and Oxigen Data Center bring together complementary capabilities. Fujifilm contributes its expertise in long-term digital storage and preservation technologies based on LTO; Ebantic provides solution development and specialist content management; and Oxigen contributes its data center platform in Catalonia, designed to support mission-critical environments requiring high availability, security and continuity of operations.

This collaboration takes shape in ProArchive, Fujifilm’s digital preservation service, developed in collaboration with Ebantic and deployed on Oxigen’s platform. Designed for organisations managing large volumes of photographic and audiovisual content, the service enables centralised preservation, organisation and access, with AI-powered indexing and search capabilities.

The model also addresses an increasingly important consideration: data sovereignty. Knowing where information is stored, who is involved in managing it and the technological environment in which it operates enables organisations to strengthen control over their digital assets and retain greater autonomy in making decisions about them.

The initiative demonstrates how three complementary capabilities — digital preservation, content management and data center infrastructure — can be brought together in a single model to protect high-value digital information, preserve its long-term accessibility and strengthen control over where it is hosted and how it is managed.
